NOAA NESDIS plans a permanent change for GOES-East (GOES-16) Full Disk scan: every 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes from 16:00 UTC on Thursday 2 April 2019.

The OSI SAF impacted products are :
  • [OSI-207-a] GOES-East Sea Surface Temperature
  • [OSI-305-a] GOES-East Downward Longwave Irradiance
  • [OSI-306-a] GOES-East Surface Solar Irradiance
From Thursday 2nd April 2019 08:00 UTC to Wednesday 3th of April around 10:00 UTC, the OSI SAF processing will use input data at only H+00 and H+30 (like during the test in February, see service message #1766).
We expect no interruption of the production but the products will be built with different input data from usual. In each file, the Global Attribute file_quality_level will be set to 0 (unknown quality) instead of 3 (excellent).

From Wednesday 3rd of April around 10:00 UTC, the OSI SAF processing for hourly products will use input data at H+10 and H+40 instead of H+15 and H+45. We expect no change in the product, so the global attribute file_quality_level will be set to 3 (excellent) as today.
