GOES-16 (GOES-R) is the first GOES new generation. This new GOES-East platform enables daytime SST calculations (whereas, previously, GOES-East SST was restricted to night_time conditions). From December 2017 to beginning of June 2018, significant amount of GOES-East data were missing or late on EUMETCast and disturbed the OSI SAF production based on GOES-East. From 2018-06-07, GOES-East data are received in the OSI SAF production centre (Météo-France Lannion) directly from the satellite. This product format is compliant with the Data Specification (GDS) version 2 from the Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperatures (GHRSST). Distributed as a pre-operational until 17/12/2018, operational from 18/12/2018. | |
