Dear radiative fluxes user,

As previously raised in OSI SAF service messages (#1419 on 7 July 2017, #1426 on 17 July 2017, #1450 on 21/09/2017), the GRIB and NetCDF3 format of radiative fluxes products (DLI, SSI) from OSI SAF based on MSG and GOES-E are planned to be discontinued in mid-December 2017 (around the 14/12/2017). Users are strongly encouraged to use the NetCDF4 format as soon as possible.

This message concerns the following products : MSG Downward Longwave Irrandiance (OSI-303) and Solar Surface Irradiance (OSI-304) and GOES-E Downward Longwave Irrandiance (OSI-305) and Solar Surface Irradiance (OSI-306), both hourly and daily products.

Currently,

* NetCDF4 files are available, on top of NetCDF3, on Ifremer FTP server from 17/07/2017 (service message #1426)
* NetCDF4 files are available, on top of GRIB, on EUMETCast-Europe and Africa from 05/10/2017 (service message #1450)
From mid-December (around the 14/12/2017), the distribution of GRIB and NetCDF3 formats will be discontinued. NetCDF4 format will be the unique format available for these products both on Ifremer FTP server (Users rights are provided on request in the www.osi-saf.org registration process), EUMETCast-Europe and EUMETCast-Africa.

Please get ready to switch to the NetCDF4 files and do not hesitate to contact the OSI SAF team in case you have any concerns about it.
