ScatSat-1 winds data flow to be resumed on 25th June

Last Thursday ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) resumed the dissemination of ScatSat-1 backscatter data, after it stopped on 21st of May due to an instrument anomaly. ISRO reported that they have solved the problem by a switch-over to redundant hardware of the instrument. This results in a small change of instrument calibration. Based on the new data that we have received the last couple of days, we have re-calibrated our wind products and we have checked that we now get winds of the same calibration and quality as before the anomaly.

Based on this, we plan to switch on the dissemination of OSI SAF winds (OSI-112-a, OSI-112-b) to the users tomorrow (25th of June).
