  • Parameters

The parameters retrieved at the sea surface are :

    Areas

The areas currently used are defined as following :

    Satellites

The OSI SAF products are using in priority the European Meteorological satellites METEOSAT and MetOp and also several american satellites operated by NOAA , DMSP and NASA.
The use of NPP is envisaged around 2012.

    Accessibility

The products are accessible in near-real time :
The products are archived in the production centers and available on the corresponding FTP servers or on request.
Between 2008 and 2010 the archiving is also being implemented at the UMARF, EUMETSAT Unified Archive.
