DMSP : SSMI data from US Air force DMSP (US Defense Meteorological Satellite Program) satellites are used in OSI SAF Sea Ice processing.
ESA : The European Space Agency is responsible for several satellites of interest, in particular ENVISAT satellite, from which is derived the AATSR SST, key reference for the OSI SAF, and for the future, SENTINEL-3 satellite.
GCOS : Global Climate Observing System, is a source of requirement for the OSI SAF.
GEOSS : Global Earth Observation System of Systems. The GEOSS project will help all nations involved produce and manage their information in a way that benefits the environment as well as humanity by taking a pulse of the planet
GHRSST : The Group for High Resolution Sea Surface Temperature gathers an international community of users involved in scientific projects and operational Oceanography, and as a consequence is an important source of requirements for the OSI SAF.
COPERNICUS : COPERNICUS is the European participation in the worldwide monitoring and management of our planet Earth and the European contribution to GEO. The OSI SAF SST, Sea Ice and Wind products are used as input for the Marine Core Service (MCS) Thematic Assembly Centers (TAC) through MyOcean project.

IOMASA : Integrated Observation and Modeling of Arctic Sea ice and Atmosphere
MERCATOR-OCEAN : The Public Interest Group (GIP) Mercator Ocean was founded in April 2002 to set up an operational system for describing the state of the ocean, an integral part of our environment, at any given time and at any place on our blue planet. The OSI SAF SST is an input data for MERCATOR.
MyOcean : MyOcean is the implementation project of the COPERNICUS Marine Core Service, aiming at deploying the first concerted and integrated pan-European capacity for Ocean Monitoring and Forecasting.
NASA : NASA is responsible for satellite programs such as AQUA, TERRA, involved in JASON, and, in cooperation with NOAA, in the forthcoming NPP and later JPSS.
NOAA : NOAA POESS satellites AVHRR data are used in OSI SAF processing of SST, Radiative Fluxes, and Sea Ice. From 2012 onwards they will be replaced by Joint NOAA-NASA satellites NPP and later JPSS, with VIIRS onboard.
NPP : NPOESS Preparatory Project. NPP satellite will have onboard VIIRS Visible& Infra-red Imager which data will be used in SST and Sea Ice OSI SAF processing.
NPOESS : NPOESS was a tri-agency US Air Force - NOAA - NASA Satellite program, expected to replace POES and DMSP constellations. It has been replaced by the joint NASA NOAA JSSP.
Polar View : Polar View offers integrated monitoring and forecasting services in the Polar Regions using satellite earth observation data, in particular the OSI SAF Sea Ice.

University of Edinburgh : the OSI SAF benefits from the expertise of the University of Edinburgh in satellite-derived SST processing/algorithm through Visiting Scientist activities.
WMO : World Meteorological Organization, Important source of requirement for Operational Space Meteorology.
